Cetara is one of the thirteen treasures of AmalfiCoast, the Divine Coast
In the world Cetara and Amalfi Coast are famous thanksto wonderful nature, monuments, mild climate, uncontaminated sea, and thedelicious local gastronomy.
The name Cetara comes from Cetaria, that is "Tonnara" (theboat that uses the traditional tuna-fishing technique). The inhabitants ofCetara have always been brave tuna hunters. Like all fishermen villages, the main feature of Cetara is thepresence of colourful boats, that create a picturesque atmosphere, thatcharacterizes the whole Amalfi Coast. The patron ofCetara is Saint Peter and he is celebrated with a great feast on 29th June. Inthis occasion the statue of the saint is brought, dancing, on the beach.Beautiful fireworks end the celebrations. Also the main Church of Cetarais dedicated to the Patron: it was built in Romanic style, with a glazed domeand the bell tower is of XIII century.
